Emergency Medicine Resident Medical Officer

About the role

The Resident Medical Officer will provide immediate assessment and treatment to emergency patients of all ages, supporting resuscitation, stabilization and coordination with specialists. The role involves maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring safe, timely care in line with hospital protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Interview and evaluate patients, take comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations.
• Document findings, clinical information and justification for diagnostic tests in the patient’s record.
• Notify attending physicians of admitted in‑patients, discuss clinical conditions and agree on management plans.
• Conduct daily rounds on assigned wards, write progress notes and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.
• Respond promptly to patient complaints, manage emergencies with specialist assistance and complete handovers at shift end.
• Complete required forms, discharge summaries and patient instructions in accordance with Fakeeh Care policies.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality and patient‑safety activities, and continuous medical education.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Medicine from an accredited institution; PG/MD in Emergency Medicine is an advantage.
• At least five years of post‑qualification experience in a busy emergency department, preferably in the UAE.
• Ability to join within 2‑3 weeks is preferred.
