English Teacher – Immediate Start at Yas American Academy

About the role

Aldar Education is seeking an English Teacher for Yas American Academy on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, with an immediate start. The role involves delivering the Massachusetts Common Core Curriculum alongside Arabic, Islamic Studies and Social Studies in a vibrant, well‑equipped school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons that meet curriculum standards and cater to a wide ability range.
• Assess, record and analyse student progress using Target Tracker and provide feedback to parents.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, curriculum support staff and external specialists such as speech therapists.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policy and act as a positive role model.
• Contribute to extra‑curricular activities, including running a weekly ECA.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject plus B.Ed. or PGCE; experience in an international school is an advantage.
• Teaching experience at AP/IB or A‑Level standard, preferably with students for whom English is a second language.
• Passion for holistic education, strong professionalism and a clean enhanced DBS/police check.
• Active involvement in extra‑curricular activities and a solution‑focused attitude.
