Environmental Engineer, PMC

About the role

KBR has been appointed under a framework agreement with the largest developer in Abu Dhabi to oversee a diverse portfolio of projects covering infrastructure, utilities, public spaces, residential housing, education facilities and infill development. As Environmental Engineer, you will assist the KBR Environmental and Sustainability Manager in overseeing the day-to-day implementation of environmental management system requirements across the programme of operations, working in line with the ALDAR Environmental Management System, regulatory requirements and KBR's Zero Harm and Courage to Care philosophy.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the implementation of the ALDAR Environmental Management System and relevant regulatory requirements
• Conduct site environmental inspections and audits
• Verify site observation closeout reports, environmental reports and related documentation
• Promote environmental awareness by supporting client and corporate initiatives
• Coordinate with clients, supervision consultants, contractors, third-party consultants and regulatory authorities
• Advise the project team on environmental requirements and help resolve environmental issues
• Assist in preparing the monthly environmental project monitoring plan

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related science
• Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental management in the construction industry
• ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Lead Auditor certification
• Previous work within ALDAR EMS preferred; PMC or related consultancy experience preferred
• At least 5 years of Middle East experience, with Abu Dhabi experience preferred
• Fluent English, written and spoken; Arabic speaking is advantageous

Required skills

• Strong grasp of UAE environmental regulations and frameworks
• Project management capability to handle multiple projects
• Excellent report writing, MS Office and Primavera
• Environmental reporting and knowledge of Environmental Key Performance Indicators
