Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist

About the role

Julphar is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to lead and enhance its EHS programs at the Ras Al Khaima site. You will ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, drive risk‑based safety initiatives, and foster a strong safety culture across manufacturing and laboratory operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with local and international EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and pharmaceutical standards.
• Conduct risk assessments such as JSA, HIRA, and HAZOP for processes, labs, and utilities.
• Develop and implement chemical safety, biosafety, hazardous waste, and emergency response programs.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and CAPA development.
• Design and deliver EHS training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
• Perform routine inspections, internal audits, and monitor air quality, noise, and ergonomics.
• Track and report EHS KPIs (TRIR, LTIR, near‑misses, waste metrics).
• Support sustainability initiatives including waste segregation, energy and water conservation.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of EHS best practices in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Experience with GMP, biosafety, chemical safety, and occupational health.
• Proven ability to interpret and implement new regulations.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
