Estimation Engineer – Special Purpose Vehicles

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Estimation Engineer to join our engineering and commercial team in Dubai. The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals for specialist vehicle projects such as fire trucks, rescue vehicles, and airport rescue and firefighting (ARFF) units.
Key responsibilities
- Review enquiries, specifications, drawings and tender documents to define scope and identify clarification needs.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of materials for chassis, bodywork, pump and suppression systems, electrical systems, ancillaries and fit‑out works.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to confirm manufacturability, interfaces, weights and vehicle stability.
- Liaise with procurement to obtain component prices, lead times and commercial terms, evaluating alternatives and cost‑saving options.
- Develop labour, overhead and subcontract cost models, applying profit, contingency and risk allowances.
- Produce formal quotations, commercial schedules and tender submissions with clear scope, exclusions, delivery timelines and warranty obligations.
- Support commercial negotiations with cost breakdowns and pricing justifications.
- Maintain estimating databases, standard cost libraries and parts catalogues.
- Perform post‑tender reviews and incorporate lessons learned into estimating processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety and industry standards.
- Provide technical and cost input for change control and variation orders during project delivery.
- Record enquiries, bids, outcomes and estimate revisions in CRM/ERP systems and report to commercial management.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3–6 years of experience in estimation or commercial roles for fire trucks, specialist vehicles, commercial vehicle bodies or similar capital goods.
- Strong technical understanding of vehicle chassis integration, body structures, pump and suppression systems, and electrical wiring.
