Ethical, Pro-Privacy Ads Specialist (SEA/SEO)
Murena
Job description
About the role
Murena builds smartphones and digital services that put users back in control of their data, with a focus on privacy, sustainability and open source. It is looking for a motivated, data-driven SEA/SEO specialist to grow its visibility and reach more people looking for privacy-respecting technology. The role is hands-on, combining strategy, experimentation, technical understanding and clear reporting, and is fully remote.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, launch, manage and optimise paid-search campaigns across privacy-focused or sustainable platforms such as Startpage, DuckDuckGo, Qwant, Ecosia, Microsoft and other ethical technology channels.
- Research keywords and build campaigns that match user intent across Murena smartphones, /e/OS, Murena Workspace and business offerings.
- Monitor budgets, bids, search terms, audiences and campaign performance to improve qualified traffic, conversions and return on ad spend; conversions are tracked in a privacy-safe way with Matomo.
- Develop and run SEO strategies, including on-page optimisation, content briefs, keyword mapping, internal linking and technical SEO recommendations.
- Work with content, design, development and Shop teams so new pages and campaigns are search-friendly and conversion-focused.
- Analyse website and campaign performance and turn findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Identify growth opportunities in new markets, languages and product categories, and keep up with platform changes while respecting privacy-first values.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing SEA/PPC campaigns, ideally for e-commerce, SaaS, consumer technology or comparable digital products.
- Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals: keyword research, on-page optimisation, technical SEO and link-building.
- Experience with Microsoft Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Reddit Ads and/or other relevant platforms.
- Comfortable interpreting performance data and communicating results clearly, with excellent written English.
- Knowledge of privacy-focused advertising alternatives and privacy-friendly analytics tools.
- Experience in conversion-rate optimisation, landing-page testing or product marketing.
- Familiarity with the open-source, privacy, mobile or consumer-electronics ecosystem.
- Organised, proactive and able to take ownership in a remote environment.
Required skills
- Experience with WooCommerce or WordPress websites.
- Experience with Matomo.
- Familiarity with multilingual and international SEO.
- Comfortable working with Analytics, Search Console or comparable tools.
What we offer
- Fully remote position with flexible working hours.
- Contractor (self-employed) position at a fair rate aligned with skills and experience.
- The chance to contribute to a growing privacy-first, ethical technology ecosystem and to work with a collaborative international team.
To apply, send your application, including a CV and ideally a cover letter, by email to the recruiter.
