External Communications Lead (UAE National)

About the role

This newly created position sits within an established Communications function of a leading semi‑government organisation in Abu Dhabi. The role will lead external communications across media, events, digital and social platforms, content development and stakeholder engagement, with a view to developing future leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of external communications initiatives and campaigns.
• Manage media relations and engagement with external stakeholders.
• Develop and review communications content for digital, social media and external channels.
• Plan and deliver corporate events, exhibitions, trade shows and other external engagements.
• Coordinate event‑related communications, content and brand presence.
• Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Guide and mentor junior members of the Communications team.
• Ensure all written and verbal communications meet a consistently high standard.
• Contribute to wider communications planning and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• UAE nationality.
• Approximately 8+ years of experience in external or corporate communications.
• Strong exposure to media relations, events, digital/social media, content development and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with confidence to engage senior and external stakeholders.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or managing a small team is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree; communications, media, PR or related professional certifications are a plus.
