Factory Manager - PVD & Coatings

About the role

Consort Architectural Hardware, an international family-owned business supplying engineered ironmongery to markets in the UK, US, Middle East, Asia and South Africa, is looking for an experienced and reliable Factory Manager for its Dubai product finishing facility. The manager oversees production and processes so that products are handled efficiently and to the highest quality standards. The role suits a proactive, dependable person comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and in managing a team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of operatives, set workload schedules and process maps, and ensure customer expectations are met
• Monitor machine and personnel performance and carry out machine start-up and shutdown procedures where required
• Keep machines running in line with daily production schedules and report abnormalities, breakdowns, maintenance needs or quality concerns immediately
• Create, manage and coordinate daily production activities with the Production Team
• Provide regular reports to internal stakeholders on machine status, production output and operational issues
• Communicate production delays, maintenance requirements and quality concerns promptly
• Support daily and monthly production targets and maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Follow company quality, safety and operational procedures and assist in other factory operations when machine workloads permit
• Report to the Head of Operations and General Manager

Required profile

• Previous experience in a PVD / coating / manufacturing environment
• Good understanding of production processes, quality standards and machine operation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and report machine faults or quality issues promptly
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a reliable, punctual and professional approach
• Physically capable of handling products and working in a factory environment

Required skills

• Ability to operate both manual and automatic production machinery
• Good communication skills in English and Hindi, spoken and written
