Faculty - Business (Logistics and Supply Chain Management)

About the role

HCT is hiring a full-time faculty member for Logistics and Supply Chain Management within its Business faculty. The post combines teaching, advising, applied research and service to the community, with a workload of 36.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday assignments).

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses using a practical, applied approach, adapting to a second-language environment and giving continuous feedback through tests, projects and assignments.
• Evaluate students, update grades, contribute to question banks and assessments, and act on student progress.
• Serve as student advisor, recommend at-risk action plans, mentor students during internships and work placements, and hold regular office hours.
• Conduct applied research aligned with the division's interests and the national innovation agenda, and mentor student research.
• Participate in committees, serve as a sponsor or adviser to student groups, and serve the industry, community and region.
• Maintain teaching facilities, prepare electronic Course Assessment Files and reports, handle at least one system-wide course management task, revise courses and curricula, and invigilate assessments.
• Coach and mentor subordinates, help recruit and develop UAE Nationals, and promote organizational resilience.

Required profile

• A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master's degree with a professional certification and 5 years of teaching and industry experience.
• A Bachelor's degree may be considered with extensive industry experience and certification.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in the relevant discipline; 3 years of relevant industry experience is preferred.
• Experience developing course curriculum to accreditation and international standards, and incorporating educational technology into teaching.
