Faculty - Industrial Engineering

About the role

HCT is hiring a full-time faculty member in Industrial Engineering to teach second-language learners in a student-centred environment that respects their culture and traditions. The post involves teaching, advising, research, service and administrative duties, with a workload of at least 36.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday assignments).

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses using a practical, applied approach, adapting to the needs of second-language students and giving continuous feedback through tests, projects and assignments.
• Evaluate students, update grades on time, contribute to question banks and assessments, and maintain regular office hours.
• Advise students, recommend at-risk action plans, mentor students during internships and work placements, and serve on committees and student groups.
• Conduct applied research, attend conferences, mentor student research and serve the industry, community and region.
• Maintain teaching facilities, prepare electronic course assessment files and reports, handle at least one course management system, revise courses and curricula, and invigilate assessments.
• Coach and mentor subordinates, help recruit and develop UAE Nationals, and promote organisational resilience.

Required profile

• A Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, or a Master's degree with a professional certification and 5 years of teaching and industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree may be considered with extensive industry experience and certification.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in the discipline; 3 years of relevant industry experience is preferred.
• Experience developing curriculum to accreditation and international standards, and using educational technology in teaching.
