Family Medicine Specialist

About the role

The Family Medicine Specialist will deliver high‑quality, ethical clinical care to patients at Speciality Hospital Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on safe patient management, compliance with clinical governance, and continuous professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, professional and ethical clinical services to patients efficiently.
• Monitor and manage clinical risks associated with direct patient care.
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, quality management standards and maintain accurate medical records.
• Promote continuous professional development for self and colleagues.
• Adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Management System policies, including use of PPE, risk assessments, incident reporting and participation in audits and drills.
• Implement Prevention and Control of Infection measures, following hand‑hygiene protocols, “bare below elbows” policy and environmental cleanliness.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience at specialist level (independent of country).
• Minimum 1 year specialist experience in a Tier 1 country as defined by the UAE healthcare regulator.
• Medical degree and recognised specialty qualification/fellowship/diploma approved by the UAE health authority.
• Current registration and certification in a recognised specialty (e.g., Royal College, Arab Board, MS, DM, MPhil).
• Active life‑support certification (BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).
