FICA Consultant (Insurance Finance Systems)

About the role

ATOM Technologies is hiring a FICA Consultant (Insurance Finance Systems) in Dubai, working on site in the Engineering department. You will support the day-to-day operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the FICA contract accounts landscape that underpins premium billing, collections and settlement across the group. Reporting to and working alongside the FICA Expert, you will handle posting issues, reconciliation breaks, configuration changes and defect resolution. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role in a fast-moving specialty insurance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage FICA postings, document flows and contract account balances daily, and fix incorrect, failed or suspended postings, clearing and reversal issues and open item mismatches.
• Support cash allocation, payment matching, dunning, write-offs, refunds and settlement, and resolve reconciliation breaks between FICA, the Billing Engine, the general ledger and bank statements.
• Act as first- and second-line support for FICA incidents, triage and document defects, perform root cause analysis and liaise with engineering, product and third-party vendors.
• Apply and test configuration changes, prepare and run test cases including regression testing, and support data corrections and mass changes with proper controls and audit trails.
• Support month-end and year-end close, open item analysis, ageing reports and sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliation, and produce reporting on posting quality and open issues.
• Ensure postings comply with accounting policy, financial controls and segregation of duties, and support audit queries on contract accounts and premium receivables.
• Work with Finance, Credit Control, Underwriting Operations and Engineering, and maintain documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or a related discipline; ACCA, CIMA or CPA is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar FICA, sub-ledger support or finance systems role.
• Practical experience supporting billing, receivables, collections or premium accounting in insurance, MGA, broking or financial services.
• Ability to interrogate data directly with SQL or equivalent.

Required skills

• SAP FI-CA (Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable) or an equivalent high-volume sub-ledger or contract accounting system.
• Understanding of double-entry accounting, sub-ledger to general ledger flows, clearing and reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of SAP FI/CO integration, account determination and posting logic.
• Incident and defect management with ticketing tools such as JIRA or ServiceNow.
• Testing, release support and Agile or hybrid delivery experience; exposure to ABAP debugging is a strong plus.
