Field Service Technician

About the role

The Field Service Technician will join NOV's workshop in Abu Dhabi, performing repair, assembly and maintenance tasks on oil‑field equipment. You will work closely with the team leader to ensure high‑quality service delivery while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute service, repair and assembly activities following standard procedures.
• Complete and document service reports, checklists and update business systems.
• Conduct visual inspections of parts after third‑party checks and report findings.
• Identify improvement opportunities and support problem‑solving initiatives.
• Promote safety and quality standards, report hazards and apply Stop Work Authority.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures using Root Cause Analysis.
• Maintain housekeeping in the workshop and follow HSE policies.
• Complete assigned training and competency programs.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Physically fit for workshop work and aware of workshop environments.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in oil‑field repair or maintenance (preferred).
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Operation of overhead cranes.
• Use of breakout machines.
• Root Cause Analysis for equipment troubleshooting.
