Financial Controller – Business Partnering – Oil & Gas

About the role

This senior Finance Controller position sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, operations and technology within a diversified oil & gas group operating across the UAE and the wider region. The role is a high‑impact leadership function that combines finance business partnership, financial control, performance management and finance transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to senior leadership, providing insight for commercial decisions, bids, projects and strategic initiatives.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and financial modelling, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
• Own accurate monthly and quarterly reporting, variance analysis and management commentary across multiple operating entities.
• Strengthen financial control, governance and compliance; coordinate audits, financial statements and tax requirements.
• Drive working‑capital optimisation, cash‑flow forecasting and cost discipline, partnering with treasury on funding and liquidity.
• Evaluate capital expenditures, investments and new‑venture opportunities through financial modelling and commercial analysis.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives covering ERP, automation, analytics and digital processes to improve P2P, O2C and R2R efficiency.
• Develop and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Senior finance leader with a commercial mindset and experience in multi‑entity, oil & gas or similar capital‑intensive environments.
• Proven ability to partner with senior management, challenge performance constructively and influence strategic decisions.
• Strong track record in financial control, governance, audit coordination and regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated experience driving finance transformation, automation and data‑driven decision support.
