Financial Controller

About the role

A Financial Controller is a senior executive responsible for managing the financial operations of an organization. The role oversees financial reporting, budgeting, compliance and internal controls to ensure the company's financial stability and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, and analyze financial data to support strategic decisions
• Prepare accurate financial statements and present them to management, stakeholders and external auditors
• Develop annual budgets, monitor performance against them and implement cost control measures
• Set up internal controls, coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure compliance with regulations and tax laws
• Manage cash flow and liquidity, oversee banking relationships and treasury functions
• Maintain financial systems and software and stay current on emerging technologies
• Lead and develop the finance team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
• Evaluate the financial viability of new projects, investments or acquisitions and contribute to strategic planning
• Coordinate tax planning and compliance, and support other departments with financial analysis

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus
• Extensive experience in finance or accounting roles with progressive leadership responsibilities
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations and compliance standards
• Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to think strategically and make sound financial decisions
• High preference for an automotive background
