Financial Controller

About the role

A growing manufacturing operation in Dubai, run by a globally established organisation in a technical manufacturing and engineering environment, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller. The role works closely with senior leadership and operational teams to drive financial performance, strengthen controls and support business decisions during a period of significant growth.

Key responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and medium-term financial planning; prepare and analyse monthly management reports and monitor budget performance and variances
• Analyse manufacturing costs (materials, labour, overheads), review costing assumptions and investigate standard versus actual variances
• Review inventory valuation and work-in-progress balances, and assess the financial benefits of cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support month-end and year-end closing, accruals, provisions, reconciliations and reporting submissions for regional and group stakeholders
• Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and track capital expenditure against approved budgets
• Assist with VAT, Corporate Tax and regulatory compliance, and support internal and external audits
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement and HR, and support ERP optimisation, data quality and reporting automation

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling or a related discipline
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Financial Controlling, FP&A or Industrial Finance
• Previous finance or controlling experience in the UAE is essential
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or another industrial environment is highly preferred
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or CMA is desirable

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax, and good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting and financial analysis
• Familiarity with IFRS and internal control frameworks
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience; Power BI or similar reporting tools are beneficial
