First Officer – Commercial Pilot

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a First Officer to join its rapidly expanding fleet based in Abu Dhabi. You will work on one of the world’s youngest aircraft, supporting the Captain in safe and efficient flight operations while developing your path towards command.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Captain with flight preparation, navigation and operation in line with Etihad procedures and regulatory standards.
• Continuously monitor aircraft position, terrain and weather to ensure safe navigation.
• Provide clear communication and advice to the Captain to aid decision‑making.
• Maintain high standards of discipline, conduct and personal appearance representing Etihad professionally.
• Assume command in the event of Captain incapacitation, following rank and company procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 2,000 total flight hours (Criteria A) or equivalent experience meeting Criteria B.
• Minimum 1,500 hours on type‑rated aircraft (Criteria A).
• Valid commercial pilot licence and appropriate type rating for the A320.
• Compliance with Etihad’s general eligibility criteria and regulatory standards.

Required skills

• A320 type rating.
• Proficiency in instrument flight rules (IFR) navigation.
• Strong crew resource management and communication skills.
