Fitness Specialist

About the role

The Fitness Specialist will lead and support a variety of group fitness activities, from aerobics and step‑aerobics to strength, cardio and circuit training. You will also assist with event management and facility upkeep to ensure a safe, engaging environment for all patrons.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and supervise aerobics, step‑aerobics, weight/strength, cardiovascular and circuit classes.
• Assist in planning, promoting and executing fitness and recreation events, including setup, teardown and participant reporting.
• Maintain both outdoor (ball fields, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits) and indoor facilities (equipment checks, cleanliness, trash removal).
• Create and update a 120‑day fitness calendar and design marketing flyers.
• Perform headcounts, generate daily/weekly/monthly reports, and provide excellent customer service.
• Handle customer concerns, complaints and conflict resolution promptly.
• Support additional site duties such as lodging or MWR/recreational area assistance as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• American Red Cross CPR Certificate.
• American Red Cross Standard First Aid certificate or local equivalent.
• Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
• Ability to work rotating day or night shifts in a 24‑hour operation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
