Fixed Assets Accountant – Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Fixed Assets Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the company's fixed asset register and ensuring accurate accounting in line with IFRS and internal policies. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role supports finance operations through depreciation calculations, asset tracking, and audit preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the fixed asset register for all company assets.
• Record asset additions, disposals, transfers, and retirements in the ERP system.
• Ensure proper capitalization of assets in line with company policy and IFRS.
• Calculate and post monthly depreciation.
• Reconcile the fixed asset sub‑ledger with the general ledger.
• Perform periodic physical verification of assets and investigate variances.
• Review capital expenditure requests and obtain appropriate approvals.
• Track assets under construction and capitalize them when ready for use.
• Process asset disposals, including gain/loss calculations.
• Provide schedules and documentation to support audit requirements.
• Prepare fixed asset reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in fixed assets or general accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and fixed asset accounting principles.
• Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively.
