FJC Supervisor – Pipeline Production Group

About the role

The Pipeline Field Joint Coating (FJC) Supervisor plans, coordinates and supervises all FJC activities, spares, personnel and inspections during offshore and on‑shore pipeline construction. The role ensures coating integrity through proper surface preparation, application, curing and inspection, complying with project specifications and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor FJC coating operations at firing lines and on‑site stations, ensuring adherence to inspection plans and approved procedures.
• Coordinate with field/production engineers, QC, coating leads, welding supervisors and equipment leads to secure timely clearance for continuous production.
• Manage readiness of FJC activities, including procedures, PQT coupons, consumables and spares, to meet project schedules.
• Maintain accurate daily records of coated joints, equipment performance, downtime, and produce detailed reports for the PPG team.
• Ensure compliance with MDR HSE requirements, conduct first‑line inspections, calibrate equipment and oversee corrective actions.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• 5–10 years of hands‑on pipeline coating experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid certifications: FROSIO, NACE Level II (Level III preferred), BOSIET, HUET and offshore medical certificate.
• Experience on pipelay vessels or lay barges and familiarity with offshore project environments.

• Coating application, curing, inspection and PQT execution.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and inspection plans.
• Knowledge of NACE standards and FROSIO certification requirements.
• Operation and calibration of automatic/semi‑automatic coating equipment.
