Floor Manager - Carpentry

About the role

Electra, a contractor partnering with local and international players setting up events in the GCC, is looking for a Floor Manager for carpentry. The role oversees and coordinates all department activities, improves performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability, ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, and keeps the workshop safe and healthy.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and oversee department activities, manage fabrication, assembly, build-up and dismantling, and plan schedules and shifts to meet project deadlines
• Implement standard fabrication methods and enforce quality control and inspections at every stage, ensuring products match drawings and best practices
• Organise repair and routine maintenance of metal-working and painting machines and the CNC department, and keep records; keep manual woodworking machines and stocked standard elements (walls, platforms, steel frames) ready
• Follow up raw material flow from suppliers (PR, PO) and track outside labour
• Advise on resources and training, including onboarding new joiners within three months
• Coordinate with other departments and hold regular meetings with operational managers on projects and site build-up
• Handle administrative requests (LOF, purchase requests, manpower needs), monitor raw material flow and annual leave, and control costs within budget

Required profile

• 5 years of experience in the exhibitions and events field
• Graduate level education
• English and Hindi
• Leadership, communication, people management, result orientation, critical thinking and problem solving
