Freight Finance Specialist

About the role

Nathan HR Human Resources is recruiting a Freight Finance Specialist in Dubai (Business Bay) on a full-time basis. The role covers accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, month-end closing and reporting, with a focus on freight-related transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and process supplier invoices against purchase orders, contracts and goods received, coordinate approvals and payments, and maintain accurate supplier records.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, debit/credit notes and statements, record receipts, monitor balances and follow up on overdue receivables.
• Perform reconciliations of supplier and customer accounts, bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts, and maintain ageing reports.
• Support month-end closing, accruals, provisions and prepayments, and prepare schedules for management reporting and audits.
• Ensure compliance with finance policies and segregation of duties, identify control weaknesses and work with Finance, Operations, Commercial and Procurement teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 4-5 years of accounting experience covering both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Experience in shipping, freight, logistics, commodity trading, FMCG or warehousing is an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of account reconciliations, ageing analysis, accruals and month-end closing.
• Understanding of freight, logistics or shipping transactions is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with accounting or ERP systems.
• Microsoft Excel is required; Power BI is a strong advantage.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a strong advantage.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, and discretion with confidential information.
