Gardener & Facilities Assistant

About the role

The Gardener & Facilities Assistant will ensure the early childhood centre’s outdoor areas and internal facilities are well‑maintained, safe, and welcoming for children and staff. This role combines garden care with basic facility upkeep to support a healthy learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Daily maintenance of gardens, plants, lawns, and irrigation systems.
• Keep playgrounds, courtyards, and entrance areas clean and free of hazards.
• Inspect outdoor spaces each morning for damage, debris, or safety issues.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance inside the building and around the grounds.
• Escort contractors and utility services during on‑site work.
• Move furniture, materials, and household supplies as needed.
• Store tools and chemicals securely out of children’s reach.
• Follow internal regulations, health‑and‑safety standards, and emergency protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a gardener, facilities specialist, maintenance assistant, technician, handyman, or similar role.
• Basic proficiency in English to understand instructions and communicate with the team.
• Prior experience in a school, kindergarten, hotel, or residential complex is highly advantageous.
