Gastrointestinal & Endocrine Surgery Specialist Consultant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Gastrointestinal and Endocrine Surgeon – Specialist / Consultant to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with gastrointestinal and endocrine disorders and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary medical team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients requiring gastrointestinal and endocrine surgical treatment.
• Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures on the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments, develop surgical plans and provide post‑operative care.
• Interpret diagnostic investigations to support surgical decision‑making.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, oncologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists and other specialists.
• Maintain accurate patient records and participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS, MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Post‑graduate qualification in General Surgery with specialization in Gastrointestinal and Endocrine Surgery.
• Significant experience as a Specialist / Consultant in gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery, including complex cases.
• Preferred Western board certification (UK CCT, American Board, Australian, Canadian, etc.).
• Excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills.
