Job description

About the role

The role involves significant regional travel (approximately 60% of the time) to engage with local teams, external experts, partners, and key stakeholders across Emerging Markets.

Key responsibilities

  • Adapting and implementing global rare disease medical strategies to regional and local market needs.
  • Developing patient identification programs, diagnostic pathways, and initiatives that improve rare disease awareness, recognition, and diagnosis.
  • Building and maintaining strong scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, investigators, rare disease experts, patient advocacy groups, and professional societies.
  • Supporting advisory boards, expert meetings, congress activities, investigator‑initiated studies, real‑world evidence, publications, and collaborative research.
  • Leading medical readiness activities for new product launches and indications, including medical training and capability development for local teams and external partners.
  • Providing medical oversight for distributor partners and external field medical resources, ensuring local teams have the knowledge, confidence, and scientific grounding to engage effectively in rare diseases.
  • Working across diverse cultures, healthcare systems, and market maturities to establish clarity, drive alignment, and identify opportunities that address unmet medical needs.

Required profile

  • PharmD, PhD, or other advanced degree in life sciences.
  • 8–15+ years of Medical Affairs experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry (e.g., Senior MSL, Medical Lead, Head of Medical).
  • Experience working in the GCC region.
  • Specialty experience in immunology and/or dermatology, ideally with advanced biologic treatment knowledge; experience in other rare disease areas (neurology, hematology, metabolic disease, nephrology) also considered.
  • Experience managing multiple countries or regional responsibilities in culturally diverse environments.
  • Strong experience engaging with Key External Experts, investigators, scientific societies, patient advocacy groups, and cross‑functional partners.
