General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant will support the Finance Department by handling a full range of accounting functions, from day‑to‑day ledger maintenance to month‑end reporting. The role ensures accurate processing of payables, receivables, cash, and compliance with UAE VAT regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and post daily transactions accurately.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and assist in balance‑sheet, P&L, and cash‑flow statement preparation.
• Process supplier invoices, issue payments and reconcile accounts payable.
• Issue customer invoices, record receipts and manage accounts receivable ageing.
• Perform bank, inter‑company and other balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage the fixed‑asset register, record acquisitions, disposals and depreciation.
• Prepare and submit UAE VAT returns in line with FTA requirements.
• Support year‑end audit by preparing schedules and providing documentation.
• Assist in budget preparation, quarterly forecasts and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes and controls.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Experience with full‑cycle accounting, including AP, AR and cash management.
• Familiarity with UAE VAT regulations and corporate certification requirements.
• Attention to detail and ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
