General Technician

About the role

Accor is hiring a General Technician in Abu Dhabi on a full-time basis. The technician maintains buildings and facilities, keeps them running smoothly and ensures guests and owners are satisfied through prompt, safe and professional service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain buildings by carrying out minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and other related maintenance.
• Inspect facilities and equipment against operational standards and review job orders to set work priorities.
• Schedule repairs, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment to keep operations running.
• Carry out the preventative maintenance programme, including pool and spa maintenance, plant room visits, chiller yard inspections, sump pump cleaning, booster heater and PRV checks, generator PPM, ice machine filter replacement and monthly meter readings.
• Check and complete guest room and apartment daily and periodic preventive maintenance plans, using PPE.
• Attend requests from guests, apartments and the RSM, and follow up pending work daily.
• Respond immediately to emergencies such as fire alarms, water flooding and gas alarms, and report hazards and equipment misuse.
• Keep the plant room clean and tidy, and follow all safety procedures and department policies.

Required profile

• Highly responsible and reliable, able to work in a team with minimal supervision.
• Enthusiastic, dependable and active listener; a self-starter who takes initiative in a fast-paced environment.
• Constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written); a second language is an asset.
• Previous experience in painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and pool and spa maintenance is an asset.
