Genetic Counsellor – Genomics Leadership Role

About the role

The Genetic Counsellor will lead SEHA Fertility Center’s genomics initiatives, driving clinical, research, educational and administrative programmes to improve patient care. This senior position combines strategic leadership with direct genetic counselling for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement clinical, research and educational genomics activities across SEHA.
• Lead and manage the genomics unit to achieve the highest standards of excellence.
• Oversee institutional initiatives that deliver high‑quality clinical genetic services.
• Expand and strengthen genetic counselling services within SEHA facilities.
• Design and deliver genomic education programmes for trainees, clinicians, administrators and researchers.
• Support university partners through teaching and clinical supervision.
• Promote genomics research and establish local or international collaborations.
• Represent SEHA on government committees and external industry partnerships.
• Act as subject‑matter expert, raising the profile of SEHA genomics nationally and internationally.
• Participate in local and international meetings and contribute to recruitment, budgeting and resource planning.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of policies, ethics and quality standards.

Required profile

• Licensed Genetic Counsellor (preferred) with experience managing a patient caseload.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive strategic initiatives.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with healthcare providers, academic researchers and senior management.
• Experience in developing and delivering educational programmes in genomics.
• Track record of establishing research collaborations and representing an organisation on external committees.
