GIS Technical Coordinator

About the role

GE Vernova is hiring a GIS Technical Coordinator in Dubai. The role covers technical coordination and documentation, training and mentoring of technical staff, and indirect people management, working with autonomy but within established policies. It involves about 10% travel across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.

Key responsibilities

• Organize, communicate and document technical work; draft and manage method statements, non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause analysis (RCA) reports, project schedules and resource plans.
• Develop the technical skills of over 60 supervisors across the MEA region to support Maintenance and E&C projects, and mentor less experienced team members.
• Use deep technical knowledge to propose solutions beyond standard procedures, analyze data from internal and external sources, and lead small, low-risk projects.
• Provide indirect people management, including staffing support, performance development and handling sensitive personnel issues.
• Work closely with Field Service, Project, Tooling and Planning managers to meet customer expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering Technology or a diploma with relevant work experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a Technical Manager, Field Service Engineer and/or Engineer on Gas Insulated Substations (GIS).
• Experience in customer relationship management, project implementation and technical analysis.
• Fluency in English; Arabic and French are an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong oral and written communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Established project management skills.
