GL & Accounts Payable Accountant (Finance Officer)

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Officer specialized in General Ledger and Accounts Payable to join our aviation client in Abu Dhabi. The role involves managing end‑to‑end accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting month‑end and year‑end closures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain General Ledger accounting activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and post accruals, pre‑payments and month‑end adjustments.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures.
• Perform actual vs. budget variance analysis.
• Conduct balance‑sheet and GL reconciliations.
• Manage full cycle Accounts Payable: invoice verification, payment processing and vendor reconciliations.
• Address vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA or CFA is a plus.
• 3–5 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
