Global Electrical Field Service Engineer (UAE National)

About the role

Join Baker Hughes' Global BRUSH Team as a Global Electrical Field Service Engineer. You will work on commissioning, installation, repair, maintenance and upgrades of large rotating electrical machines and their control systems for critical power distribution and network projects.

Key responsibilities

• Commission HV generators, motors, synchronous condensers, power management systems, electrical protection systems, excitation controllers (AVRs) and synchronising equipment.
• Upgrade AVRs, PMS, synchronisers, protection relays and other control elements.
• Perform electrical testing on high‑ and low‑voltage equipment and machine windings in the field.
• Deliver training on Brush Power Gen products to clients and field service colleagues.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications and requirements.
• Attend technical meetings on‑site and at customer premises.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments for client sites.
• Assist mechanical service engineers on assignments when required.

Required profile

• Accredited electrical or electronic engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of networking systems such as Modbus, Ethernet, IEC 61850 and fibre optics (advantageous).
• Understanding of health, safety and environment practices.
• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical power generation and distribution systems.
• Self‑reliant, resourceful problem‑solver with commercial awareness.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Willingness to work overseas and offshore up to ~29 weeks per year.
• Experience dealing with external stakeholders and operating independently.
