Global Head of Legal, Treasury & Global Markets

About the role

The Global Head of Legal, Treasury & Global Markets leads the legal, regulatory and conduct strategy for the bank's Treasury, Trading, Capital Markets and Global Markets businesses. Reporting to the Group General Counsel, the role shapes risk‑based legal frameworks that align with the bank’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define, govern and execute legal and regulatory strategy for Treasury, Trading and Capital Markets.
• Act as final escalation authority for complex, high‑impact legal matters before Group General Counsel review.
• Negotiate and maintain master documentation frameworks such as ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, CSA and confirmations.
• Provide end‑to‑end legal support for complex derivatives, repos, securities lending and collateralised financing.
• Lead the overhaul and modernisation of ISDA, CSA and GMRA templates to incorporate evolving regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with margin, prudential, conduct, reporting, clearing, collateral, netting and disclosure regulations across core markets.
• Own the TGM legal risk agenda and develop playbooks, clause libraries and documentation standards.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience (minimum 12 years) in legal functions within Treasury, Derivatives or Capital Markets.
• Proven ability to manage high‑impact regulatory matters and lead cross‑functional legal teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on pragmatic, risk‑aware solutions.
