Group Senior Manager – Legal

About the role

Provide commercially focused legal guidance and assistance to head office and regional management across the Ports & Terminals pillar, supervising external counsel and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver strategic, reliable, and user‑friendly legal support to senior managers on a wide range of business matters.
• Review, draft and negotiate various legal documents, including joint venture, concession, and service agreements.
• Identify and analyse legal issues in ports and terminals transactions and projects, offering commercial recommendations.
• Advise on regulatory, commercial and contentious matters with cross‑regional impact.
• Maintain relationships with external counsel, select appropriate firms, and manage legal spend.
• Develop contract templates, playbooks and approval matrices to harmonise contracting processes.
• Liaise between commercial teams and external counsel, providing clear instructions and overseeing work.
• Report material legal matters to the Group Vice‑President Legal (Ports & Terminals).

Required profile

• Law degree from an accredited university and qualification to practice law.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in an international law firm or multinational, preferably in the Middle East.
• Knowledge of cross‑border corporate and commercial transactions and international infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Understanding of regulatory and contentious matters in ports and terminals.
