Head Accountant - UAE Tax Compliance

About the role

Kozyk Consultancy, a boutique consulting firm in Dubai founded 18 years ago, is looking for a Head Accountant to own its UAE tax compliance as the company grows. The role is full-time and hybrid, based in Dubai, and covers all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and bank reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise junior accounting staff, coordinate with external auditors and optimise accounting processes
• Own the VAT and Corporate Tax filings for the company and its clients, and liaise directly with the UAE Federal Tax Authority on registrations, queries and audits
• Review and sign off on bookkeeping and accounting deliverables for clients, and oversee invoice entry and bookkeeping
• Own the month-end and year-end close, reconciliations and the accuracy of the books
• Prepare financial and management reports for leadership and provide financial analysis
• Collaborate with operational teams on transactions related to company registrations, licenses and client projects
• Stay up to date with UAE tax law changes, including the move to e-invoicing from 2027

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior accounting or head accountant position, preferably in consulting or professional services
• Experience in F&B, hospitality or trading is a plus; professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is preferred
• Proven track record preparing and filing UAE VAT returns and Corporate Tax declarations
• Ability to lead and mentor an accounting team, with strong attention to detail and clear English communication

Required skills

• FirstBit, Xero, Wafeq, Zoho Books or similar cloud accounting software, spreadsheets and digital tools
• Financial accounting, general ledger management and financial statement preparation
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Accounts payable/receivable, payroll administration and bank reconciliations
• Knowledge of UAE accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements
