Head of Business Development – UAE & Kuwait

About the role

Tabby, a payment-as-a-service FinTech with over 25 million users and over $18 billion in annual transaction volume for its partner brands, is hiring a Head of Business Development to lead its commercial growth across the UAE and Kuwait. The role owns the sales number end to end: winning new merchants and growing existing partners, and leading the team that does it. It is a hands-on position: setting direction, leading from the front with key merchants and shaping how the commercial team works as it scales.

Key responsibilities

• Set the sales plan for the UAE and Kuwait, defining where to focus, which opportunities to pursue and how to grow share.
• Own the sales targets and the plan to achieve them.
• Lead merchant acquisition and the growth of existing partners.
• Personally open and close important deals and build senior relationships with merchants and retailers.
• Lead, coach and grow the sales team, helping to hire the people it needs as it scales.
• Put in place the processes and standards the team follows.
• Support the growth of the Kuwait business alongside the local team.
• Work closely with product, risk, marketing and operations to deliver the best of Tabby to merchants.

Required profile

• A proven sales leader who has owned a revenue target and still enjoys selling.
• Experience leading and developing sales teams across new business and account management.
• Strong relationships with merchants and retailers across the GCC, with the UAE at the core.
• Sound commercial judgement and the ability to make clear recommendations on hard calls.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving business where not everything is defined yet.

Nice-to-have

• Arabic, written and spoken.
• Payments, fintech, marketplace or e-commerce background, or enterprise and SME sales leadership in a related industry.
• Experience in Kuwait or other GCC markets.
• Experience in a high-growth company.
