Head of Drama

About the role

The school seeks a dynamic Head of Drama to lead and develop an engaging Drama provision within a British‑based curriculum in Dubai. You will shape a creative, inclusive programme that enhances student confidence and performance skills.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Drama department, designing an ambitious and inclusive curriculum aligned with GCSE, A‑Level and BTEC pathways.
• Direct and produce school performances and extracurricular activities, fostering student participation.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the school to integrate Drama with wider academic and creative initiatives.
• Manage departmental resources, budgeting and scheduling.

Required profile

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent) and a degree in Drama, Theatre or a related field.
• Experience teaching Drama in a British or international school, covering the secondary age range.
• Proven ability to prepare students for GCSE or equivalent qualifications.
• Previous international teaching experience is desirable.

• Excellent subject knowledge and genuine passion for Drama and the performing arts.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement abilities.
• Effective communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Confidence in directing productions and organising extracurricular events.

What we offer

• Salary AED 10,000–14,000 per month, dependent on experience.
• Housing allowance, annual return flights and medical insurance.
