Head of MOE & Arabic/Islamic Teacher (ADEK Qualified)

About the role

The Cambridge High School in Abu Dhabi is seeking a dynamic leader to head the Ministry of Education (MOE) Arabic and Islamic studies department. This senior position combines departmental management with classroom teaching for Cycle 2 & 3, ensuring high‑quality delivery of the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and management for the Arabic, Islamic and UAE Social Studies departments.
• Oversee teaching staff, resources and curriculum implementation to raise pupil achievement.
• Organise department activities in line with the school’s strategic objectives.
• Maintain high standards of teaching and learning, supporting staff professional development.
• Evaluate instructional effectiveness and set departmental priorities and targets.
• Ensure the departments achieve very good ratings in ADEK inspections.

Required profile

• ADEK‑qualified candidate with an attested Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education (equivalency confirmed).
• Valid teaching licence and IELTS score of at least 6.
• Qualified/licensed teacher specializing in Arabic and Islamic studies with up‑to‑date subject knowledge.
• Minimum five years of relevant teaching experience.
• At least one year of experience as Head of Department or senior leader.
• Commitment to UAE MoE curriculum requirements and promotion of Arabic language, UAE culture and national identity.
