Healthcare Assistant – Clinical Support

About the role

The Healthcare Assistant will work under the direct supervision of registered or assistant nursing staff at Royal Medical Centre Shahama, providing safe and compassionate care to patients throughout Abu Dhabi. This role supports the nursing team in delivering timely clinical services and contributes to a positive patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care and services safely and promptly under the guidance of registered nursing staff.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and escalate them according to the chain of command.
• Perform clerical tasks such as supporting new appointment bookings and other administrative duties.
• Assist with escorting patients within the clinical setting.
• Transport patient specimens to the laboratory.
• Provide support across different departments when required.
• Maintain professional re‑licensure and stay current with required certifications.

Required profile

• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider qualification.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to work across departments as needed.
• Desirable: ability to communicate effectively in Arabic.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
