Healthcare Assistant (UAE National)

About the role

The Healthcare Assistant provides safe, compassionate, and individualized care to adult patients in a non‑critical setting at Royal Khalifa City Hospital. Working under the direct supervision of registered nursing staff, the role supports patient wellbeing, clinical processes, and administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care and services that are safe, timely, and within the assistant’s scope of practice.
• Assist with patient escort, appointment bookings, and clerical duties in the clinical area.
• Transport patient specimens to the laboratory and support specimen handling.
• Identify improvement opportunities and escalate issues according to the chain of command.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and promptly seek nursing support when a patient’s condition changes.
• Refuse tasks for which the assistant is not trained or competent and request expert help when needed.
• Help create a positive practice environment and ensure timely re‑licensure management.

Required profile

• UAE national.
• Willingness to work across departments as required.
• Responsibility for managing personal DOH re‑licensure.
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider qualification.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
