High School Business & Economics Teacher

About the role

Dubai American Academy (DAA), GEMS Education's flagship American curriculum school, is looking for a High School Business & Economics teacher to join from August 2027. The school offers education from PreK to Grade 12 alongside the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and holds an Outstanding KHDA rating for 13 consecutive years. The academy welcomes experienced American curriculum and/or IB educators.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, interactive Business & Economics lessons to high school students following the school's curriculum and educational standards.
• Develop and implement creative teaching strategies that inspire a love of the subject and foster critical thinking.
• Collaborate with colleagues to build a positive, supportive learning environment and ensure continuity of curriculum delivery.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and foster an inclusive classroom culture.
• Take part in parent-teacher conferences and keep parents informed about student progress.
• Contribute to the school's life through enrichment opportunities and professional learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree together with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, state license or equivalent, specialising in Business or Economics.
• Proven experience teaching Business or Economics at high school level, ideally within an American or IB curriculum school.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to build relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
