High School Physics Teacher – August Start

About the role

We are seeking outstanding High School Physics Teachers to join Dubai American Academy, GEMS Education’s flagship American curriculum school, starting August 2027. The role involves delivering engaging physics lessons within an American and IB curriculum framework.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive physics lessons to high school students, following the school's curriculum and educational standards.
• Develop and implement creative teaching strategies to inspire a love for physics and foster critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Foster an inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and exploration.
• Participate in parent‑teacher conferences and maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment opportunities and professional learning.

Required profile

• Hold a Bachelor of Education degree or an equivalent teaching qualification (PGCE, State License) specializing in physics.
• Proven experience teaching physics at high school level, preferably within an American or IB curriculum.
• Strong knowledge of inquiry‑based learning and practical science instruction.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to continual improvement and delivering outstanding teaching.
