History Teacher – IGCSE (High/Secondary) – Al Manhal, Abu Dhabi

About the role

The International Community School – Al Manhal Branch is seeking a passionate History Teacher to join its Social Sciences department. You will deliver engaging IGCSE‑aligned history lessons to high/secondary students, fostering curiosity and critical thinking within a supportive, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess history lessons in line with the UK curriculum and IGCSE specifications.
• Create a dynamic classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and independent inquiry.
• Utilise educational technology tools to enhance learning and streamline assessment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and school leadership to support student progress.
• Contribute to departmental meetings, curriculum development and school events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in History or Education (minimum requirement).
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in a secondary school following the British curriculum.
• Commitment to an inclusive, respectful and positive learning environment.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the UK history syllabus and assessment methods.
• Excellent classroom management and student engagement abilities.
• Proficiency in lesson planning, student assessment and use of educational technology.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with colleagues, parents and students.
