Hook Up & Commissioning Manager

About the role

McDermott International is hiring a Hook Up & Commissioning Manager in Dubai. The role requires an in-depth understanding of Hook Up & Commissioning (Fab) concepts, theories and principles, and the ability to apply industry knowledge to improve effectiveness, guide the team and resolve technical, operational and organisational problems. It also shapes policies, resources, budgets and the business plan for the discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractual documentation to define the Hook-Up/Commissioning scope of work.
• Direct the development and implementation of an Execution Plan covering pre-hook-up, hook-up, commissioning, start-up, performance tests and plant acceptance.
• Determine organisational requirements and work hours, and develop pre-commissioning, hook-up/commissioning and completion schedules with the Project Scheduler and Construction/Installation.
• Develop cost estimates for the Hook-Up/Commissioning scope and give pre-commissioning input to fabrication during design.
• Ensure attendance at P&ID reviews, model reviews, PHA and SIL reviews, and direct the development of operation, maintenance, shutdown and emergency manuals.
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers, identify cleaning and special tool/equipment requirements, and coordinate performance test procedures and site testing.
• Interface with HSE, construction/installation and the client to support system turnover and plant acceptance, and interface with local agencies.
• Lead site pre-commissioning, hook-up, commissioning and start-up activities, manage training programmes and ensure compliance with McDermott policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline; degree holders must provide a MoHESR equivalency certificate.
• 13+ years of experience in related offshore engineering fields.
• Preferably a Registered Professional or Chartered Engineer, or member of a professional engineering society.
• Detailed knowledge of project execution and managerial skills.
