Hospitality Accountant – Bookkeeping & Budget Specialist

About the role

The Accountant will manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping, support month‑end closing, and assist with budget preparation for hospitality operations. The role ensures accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and timely reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and record daily transactions (AP/AR, receipts, payments, journal entries).
• Reconcile vendor and customer accounts, bank statements, and other financial statements regularly.
• Prepare and monitor cash flow, manage petty cash, and reconcile it.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and schedules.
• Prepare VAT filings and maintain the Fixed Asset Register on a regular basis.
• Support annual budget preparation, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Post month‑end journals, accruals, and support the monthly/quarterly/annual closing process.
• Provide documentation and schedules for internal and external auditors.
• Maintain organized filing of accounting records and liaise with internal teams and management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Master’s preferred).
• CA/ICWA Intermediate or ACCA qualification.
• 3–6 years of accounting experience, preferably in hotels, student accommodation, or other hospitality divisions.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting standards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, or SAP.
