Hostess (Russian-Speaking)

About the role

Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort, part of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, is looking for a Russian-speaking hostess for its restaurant in Dibba, Fujairah. The role greets guests, manages the waiting list, handles reservations and dining charges, and ensures a smooth handoff to the service staff.

Key responsibilities

• Offer a professional, friendly greeting and engaging service, and present a positive first impression of the establishment.
• Understand the server's tasks in the outlet, shift-end reports and the POS system.
• Help guests with food and beverage menu items, knowing all items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
• Greet guests on arrival, tell them their wait time, monitor the waiting list, enter names into the computer system, seat them and bid them farewell.
• Tell guests about current promotions and who will serve them, and answer incoming restaurant calls.
• Handle guest reservations, table allocation, dietary requirements and billing.
• Issue dining charges by verifying orders, calculating taxes, totaling bills for to-go orders and receiving payments, including validating credit charges, approving checks and accepting currency.
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards, and all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.

Required profile

• Previous service experience is an asset.
• Previous Point of Sale system experience is an asset.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Highly responsible and reliable, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Focuses on guest needs, remains calm and courteous, keeps confidential information and follows ethical financial standards.
