Housekeeping Attendant

About the role

Meliá Desert Palm, a luxury urban resort in a polo estate in Dubai, is looking for a dedicated Housekeeping Attendant to join its Housekeeping team. The role covers guest rooms, villas, public areas and back-of-house spaces, keeping them to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation, while delivering a welcoming experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Service assigned guest rooms, villas and public areas according to Meliá standards, prioritising departure rooms and preparing them for arriving guests.
• Provide friendly, prompt and personalised service to guests and colleagues, and attend to guest requests professionally.
• Change bed linen, replenish amenities and supplies, and remove soiled linen and waste at the end of each shift.
• Inspect corridors, lift landings and assigned areas for cleanliness and maintenance needs, and report discrepancies and maintenance issues.
• Handle keys and hotel property safely, deposit lost and found items at the Housekeeping Office the same day, and coordinate with the minibar team.
• Maintain housekeeping equipment, carpets, fixtures and furnishings, and ensure cleaning chemicals are correctly diluted, handled, used and stored.
• Keep records and checklists, ensure pantries are clean, organised and stocked, and conserve energy and reduce waste.
• Follow grooming standards, security, health and safety procedures, and attend training sessions and departmental meetings.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel environment.
• Attention to detail, positive attitude and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; basic knowledge of hotel facilities and services.
• Understanding of lost and found procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
