Housing Technician - Staff Accommodation

About the role

Rixos Al Mairid is looking for a skilled and reliable Technician, Employee Accommodation to keep all technical systems and equipment in the staff accommodation working efficiently and safely. The role covers routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair across electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry, helping maintain a comfortable and safe living environment for employees.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units and general fixtures in staff accommodation areas.
• Inspect rooms, common areas and equipment regularly and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Respond quickly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Keep accurate logs of maintenance tasks, repairs and equipment servicing.
• Monitor and manage inventory of tools, spare parts and materials, report shortages and help with requisitions.
• Carry out all work in line with health and safety standards and building regulations.
• Work with the Supervisor, Employee Accommodation and other departments, and notify the Supervisor of major issues or safety concerns.
• Keep work areas clean and safe, and provide technical support during staff moves, accommodation upgrades and facility improvement projects.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certification in electrical, plumbing or HVAC is a plus.
• Previous experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in residential or hospitality settings.
• Ability to lift, carry and perform manual tasks as required.
• Reliability, integrity and responsibility in work performance.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of basic repairs, tools and safety practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise work.
• Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) or maintenance logging systems is an advantage.
