HSE Officer – Engineer

About the role

The HSE Officer – Engineer will ensure health, safety and environmental standards are met across the plant. You will lead inspections, risk assessments and emergency response drills to maintain a safe working environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily plant inspections, identify unsafe acts, conditions and HSE non‑compliances.
• Monitor and enforce the Permit to Work (PTW) system, PPE requirements and safe‑working practices.
• Perform risk assessments, hazard identification and support contractor HSE compliance.
• Support environmental monitoring (noise, lux, air quality, stack emissions).
• Investigate incidents and near misses using Root Cause Analysis and track CAPA.
• Maintain incident registers, prepare periodic HSE reports and conduct inductions, toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions.
• Coordinate emergency drills (fire, chemical spill, confined space, first aid) and ensure certification and maintenance of firefighting and critical safety equipment.
• Maintain HSE documentation, inspection logs, training records, risk assessments and regulatory correspondence.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
• NEBOSH IGC – mandatory.
• Registered/Eligible OHS Practitioner with Dubai Municipality (DM‑HSD‑S3) – mandatory.
• 2–4 years of HSE experience in lubricants, chemicals, oil & gas or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of plant‑floor HSE and industrial safety practices.
• Proficiency in English; Hindi/Urdu preferred, Arabic an advantage.
