HSE Officer - MEP Construction Projects

About the role

Innovo Group is looking for an HSE Officer in Abu Dhabi to implement and monitor health, safety and environmental policies on MEP construction projects. The role ensures compliance with UAE laws, client requirements and company HSE standards, focusing on hazard identification, risk mitigation, site inspections, training and building a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, local authority requirements and client HSE standards, and enforce company HSE policies and site-specific plans
• Monitor compliance with method statements, risk assessments and permit-to-work systems, and coordinate with the site operation team on non-compliances
• Carry out daily site safety inspections of MEP activities (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting), issue safety observations, NCRs and stop-work notices, and monitor PPE and housekeeping
• Take part in preparing and reviewing risk assessments, RAMS and JSAs, and control high-risk activities such as work at height, hot works, lifting and confined spaces
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with HSE requirements
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and HSE training, promote behaviour-based safety and keep training records
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, prepare incident reports and follow up on corrective actions
• Monitor environmental aspects such as waste, spills, noise and dust, and assist in internal and external HSE audits
• Maintain HSE records and submit daily, weekly and monthly HSE reports to the HSE Manager

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Safety or a related field
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification (mandatory)
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience as an HSE Officer on MEP or construction projects in the UAE

• Strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations and MEP construction activities
• Risk assessment, RAMS and JSA preparation and review
