HSSE Officer – Automotive (UAE National)

About the role

The HSSE Officer will enforce health, safety, security and environmental standards across automotive sites in the UAE. Reporting to the HSSE Manager, the role focuses on risk reduction, regulatory compliance and emergency preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections, record hazards and ensure corrective actions are closed.
• Lead loss‑prevention initiatives to increase hazard reporting by 65% and cut preventable incidents by 45%.
• Maintain fire detection, alarm and fighting systems, coordinating with contractors for timely repairs.
• Document all incidents in the HSSE IMS and complete investigations within 24 hours.
• Organise and supervise emergency evacuation drills and fire safety inspections, achieving 80‑89% compliance.
• Support HSSE compliance audits, update the Site Compliance & Hazard Tracker and communicate findings to site safety committees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field such as engineering.
• Minimum 2 years experience in HSSE or security roles.
• Accredited certifications (firefighter, first aid, IOSH Managing Safety preferred).
• Fluent in English and Arabic for regulatory communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer‑based documentation systems.
